I am a second career attorney, first licensed in the State of Minnesota in 2017. My primary areas of legal focus have been in the areas of Estate Planning and Probate. However, since 2019, I have had some additional experience in Minnesota in the areas of business formation, real estate, evictions, criminal expungements, family law and custody, stepparent adoption, and general civil litigation.
While working as an associate attorney in Minnesota, I made the decision that I wanted to open my own law firm near my home. In January 2022, I became additionally licensed in Wisconsin as the next step in opening my firm. We began to look for a location to open the firm and found the former bank in Milltown, Wisconsin. In March of 2022 the building became ours and Johnson Legal Services, LLC had a physical location.
At Johnson Legal Services, my primary legal focus will continue to be in Estate Planning and Probate for both Wisconsin and Minnesota residents. I am also in the process of becoming qualified to be assigned as a Guardian Ad Litem in Wisconsin.
I initially began my law school career in 2013 at the Hamline University School of Law (HUSL). I attended as a weekend law student taking in-person classes every Saturday and Sunday for the next four years. While at HUSL, I was honored by being chosen to serve as an Associate Editor with Hamline Law Review and was also elected to the Student Judicial Counsel. During my third and fourth year of law school, HUSL and William Mitchell College of Law merged, becoming Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
I received my Juris Doctor degree from Mitchell Hamline School of law in 2017, at the age of 50. I graduated with honors and made the Dean's list during several semesters throughout my law school career.
Prior to law school, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree is in Criminal Justice Administration. I also spent over 28 years as a law enforcement officer until my retirement in 2019.
I am married and have three adult children and two grandchildren. In my free time I like to hunt, fish, travel, and spend time with my friends and family. I am a US Army veteran and served on both active duty and as a member of the Minnesota National Guard.
